BDR has managed multiple projects over a 12-year span at Georgia Southern University, including the Center for Engineering & Research and the Interdisciplinary Academic Building. The new Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center is a 90,000 square foot complex housing academic space and a multipurpose event venue to host the Georgia Southern Eagles men’s basketball and women’s basketball games, other sporting events, commencement, and concerts. The project incorporates the requirements of the Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction Act of 2008.
BDR was able to facilitate Value Engineering efforts reducing square footage, eliminating system redundancies, and right-sizing the technology package – all without reducing operational scope.
