Case Study: Healthcare

Shepherd Center Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation

Atlanta, Ga
Shepherd Center is constructing a freestanding, eleven-floor outpatient services building on the hospital’s current campus.

The Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation is eleven stories; six stories of Owner occupancy space, five stories of parking, and a
mechanical penthouse. The total square footage is approximately 385,000. The outpatient services building and parking will be connected to Shepherd Center’s main hospital building by an elevated, covered pedestrian bridge. Shepherd Center’s outpatient Spine and Pain Medicine services, including procedure rooms, as well as its multispecialty and specialty clinics will relocate from the existing hospital to the new building. Shepherd’s current clinical and innovative research activities will also relocate to the new building. Additionally, a café and garden access lobby will be constructed on the ground parking level. With the addition of the outpatient services building to Shepherd’s campus, the current hospital will be able to add more beds to expand its inpatient services. The facility will be ready for utilization by Spring 2025
